Old Man Quill #8 Review

After that confusing and game-changing cliffhanger, this issue was the one I was waiting for the most! All of those “Old Man…” titles never really catch my attention but after reading this series so far, I might have to check them back out. With the discovery of Quill being the last surviving member of the Guardians, the odds are certainly stacked against him. But how did he become the only surviving member? We saw the rest of the fight. Let’s dig in and see what we have here… Continue reading Old Man Quill #8 Review

Star Wars #70 Review

This issue gives us Part III of what has, to date, been a great start to Pak and Noto’s time on the main Star Wars title. A light-hearted fun story, combined with fantastic art has made this a real delight of a book, but the critical third issue is where we usually expect story strands to start to tighten up. Will this happen in issue 70 of Star Wars? Let’s find out. Continue reading Star Wars #70 Review

Star Wars: Age of Resistance Special #1

Written by Tom Taylor, G. Willow Wilson, Chris Eliopoulos Art by Matteo Buffagni, Elsa Charretier, Javier Pina Colors by Chris O’Halloran, Nick Filardi, Guru FX Letters by Travis Lanham Cover art by Phil Noto Editor Mark Paniccia Assistant Editor Tom Groneman I’ve been relatively sympathetic to the new post-Endor period in Star Wars canon. Generally I feel that there has been more good than bad. Undoubtedly though … Continue reading Star Wars: Age of Resistance Special #1

Runaways #23 Review

I remember first reading the Runaways series last year where I read the first 7 or 8 volumes. The love I have for the series has taken a slight turn south recently, but not the whole current run. This happened recently and I think I know why. The team works best with a common goal. At this point, it seems like a couple of them have a common goal. Hopefully, after this story arc, we can get to some bad guys that the team has to work together to defeat. Let’s dig in and see what we have here… Continue reading Runaways #23 Review

Superior Spider-Man #9 Review

Superior Spider-Man is with all honesty one of the books I look forward to releasing most each and every month as an ongoing title.  The adventures of Ock as he figures out the ins and outs of hero-hood are nothing short of greatly entertaining and now that we’ve gotten the mandatory War of the Realms tie-ins out of the way we can get back to business.

Daredevil #8 Review

Daredevil had been one of my favorite books at Marvel since it came out and I don’t even consider myself a Daredevil fan. Chip Zdarsky has done such a good job of tearing down Matt;s world that I can’t wait to see him get back on top again (if you can consider being Daredevil the “top” that is). So, do we get a couple of steps up the ladder this issue? Let’s find out… Continue reading Daredevil #8 Review

Spider-Man: Life Story #5 Review

Writer: Chip Zdarksy Art Team: Mark Bagley, John Dell, Frank D’Armata Release Date: July 17, 2019 Cover Price: $4.99 Spider-Man: Life Story has been a very enjoyable else-worlds tale that answered the age old question of what if Marvel’s Super Hero’s aged in real time. The Life Story creative team has also done an excellent job of showcasing different events of the various time periods, … Continue reading Spider-Man: Life Story #5 Review

Deadpool #15 Review

I have really enjoyed Skottie Young’s time on this book since Fresh Start and am sad to see him go. At least Marvel didn’t make him write tie-ins to a big event right before his run ended, right? RIGHT?!? Oh well, we do get an over sized issue so he can tie up the loose ends and finish the run in style. So, did it end with a BANG? Let’s find out… Continue reading Deadpool #15 Review
