Here are the picks for the best Marvel Comics of the week of September 25th, 2019 as picked by the Weird Science Marvel Comics staff!
The Amazing Spider-Man#30
Writer: Nick Spencer
Art: Ryan Ottley, Cliff Rathburn, Nathan Fairbairn, and VC’s Joe Caramagna
Price: $3.99
Release Date: September 25th, 2019
Nick Spencer takes a very unique approach in this Absolute Carnage tie-in issue and it works surprisingly well. Taking place in part before Absolute Carnage even starts, Spencer uses the super creepy Kindred and Peter’s emotional turmoil from his past dealings with Norman Osborn in making this issue one of the best tie-ins of the Absolute Carnage event!

Powers of X #5
Writer: Jonathan Hickman
Art: R.B. Silva
Price: $4.99
Release Date: September 25th, 2019
In yet another great but complicated issue, Hickman plants potential “what if” seeds along with some literal world-building of Krakoa. Make sure you check out this series. Don’t feel bad if you have to read it multiple times to figure it out. We all do too!!

The Superior Spider-Man #11
Writer: Christos Gage
Art: Mike Hawthorne
Price: $3.99
Release Date: September 25th, 2019
This is truly one of the most emotional comic books I’ve ever read. It a book filled with emotional turmoil, conflict, conscience, rage and ultimately a decision that Otto must make that could destroy everything that he has become. Truly sad that this book is ending.
Picked by: Tony Walton @waltgator93, and Hot Claws Wolverine @ChefHigh
Punisher Kill Krew #3
Writer: Gerry Duggan
Art: Juan Ferreyra and Tony Moore
Price: $3.99
Release Date: September 25th, 2019
Despite his ultra-violent nature The Punisher really isn’t a bad dude at all. Just look at this series as an example. Coming out of the War of Realms Frank is on a cosmic trip of vengeance. And what a trip it is!!
