Last issue’s cool down was just want I needed before chaos should come again for the Runaways. Especially with the last issue ending when Chase finding out Victor and Gert have been getting close. Where does this leave Chase now? Let’s dig in and see what we have here…

We start the issue seeing what Karolina is up to. We see she is trying to be a hero. It is strange, would have thought she is used to this stuff especially the life she has lived! I will admit, I do enjoy seeing young heroes save lives. We see their strengths and weaknesses for whatever they are trying to do. Though the beginning to this scene felt weird and confused on to what the guy was doing when he was hanging upside down.

Next up, we see what Molly and Gib is up to. These two have became the comic relief characters that will always bring a smile to my face. Where Molly is just the little girl who wants to have fun and has no filter and Gib is the strange outsider who kind of knows nothing. Unfortunately, their scene was probably the weakest in the issue. Molly did an okay job, but Gib just felt blah. They both need someone to play off of, and they can’t play off of each other.

As Gib and Molly are chit chatting, Karolina rushes in the place, so excited to see Nico. For a while now, Nico has been wanting to get back with Karolina, and now the art truly does it’s job as we can see the smile and happiness on Karolina’s face. Both the artwork and dialogue is the strongest in this one scene.

Of course, we can’t have a Runaways book without Chase and Victor, especially the way last issue left off at. Chase is hard at work, working on to repair Doombot. We also see Chase and how much pain he is in, in losing Gert. That was one relationship, I wasn’t fully on board for but this scene actually makes me feel sad for him.

Now it is time for confrontation, as Victor arrives to see what he can do, to help Chase. As Victor tries to see what Chase needs, Chase loses it! Unfortunately, he couldn’t lose it too much as Doombot comes back and he is reprogrammed the way he first was made, to attack! So now we have the Runaways versus Doombot. Took some time, but they finally took down Doombot with the help from Victor. Or did he go down as well?

Final Thoughts:

This issue does another great job to get you with the feelings! Especially from with Nico and Karolina as well as with Chase! All of the scenes were great with artwork as well as with the writing, except for with Gib and Molly. She didn’t bring her Molly charm that we are love when they were talking, thankfully she brought some of it later one. The battle scene with the Runaways vs. Doombot had some great moments that make you realize, why you enjoy this team!
