Southern Bastards packs a real heavy punch and lands a finishing blow with such strength and vitality. Now, it’s not as fierce as you’d think from a Jason Aaron title but it still as a nasty side that’s definitely authentic and downright dastardly. Its breadth is large and almost cinematic in nature making it extremely tenacious and gutsy in its own way. In my opinion, Aaron’s narrative relates well to small-town life in the South while churning up real and bold confrontations without apprehension and trepidation. Aaron finds a way to really captivate his audience almost immediately and rips them into the story.
