Best Marvel Comics of the week of October 23rd, 2019

Here are the picks for the best Marvel Comics of the week of October 23rd, 2019 as picked by the Weird Science Marvel Comics staff.

Marauders #1

Writer: Gerry Duggan

Art: Matteo Lolli, Federico Blee, VC’s Cory Petit, Tom Muller, Matthew Wilson, and Russell Dauterman

Price: $4.99

Release Date: October 23rd, 2019

You’d perhaps expect a let down of sorts after House of X and Powers of X jump-started the relaunch of the X-men line. In Marauders there’s nothing that even hints at a letdown. In fact, we get the complete opposite! A spin-off/satellite book that takes aspects of Hickman’s prelude books and enhances them and sets up what looks like a very exciting and fun series. And it’s all based on a simple question. Why can’t Kitty, or Kitten, or Kate get through the portals??

Do your self a favor and pick this up, you won’t be disappointed. Marvel is really going all out on the X books and this is a great first book!!

King Thor #2

Writer: Jason Aaron

Art: Esad Ribić, Ive Svorcina, and VC’s Joe Sabino

Price: $3.99

Release Date: October 23rd, 2019

How can King Thor save the universe?? As Jason Aaron winds down his epic run we get an action-packed issue that has caused some well deserved emotional response from its readers. Aaron is able to finish up his run while planting seeds for Donny Cates’ upcoming run as well. This easily could have been my book of the week. This issue needs to be read. If you haven’t, do it, now!!
