Here are the picks for the best Marvel Comics of the week of October 2nd, 2019 as picked by the Weird Science Marvel Comics staff.
Ghost Rider #1
Writer: Ed Brisson
Artist: Aaron Kuder
Colorist: Jason Keith
Letterer: VC’s Joe Caramagna
Release Date: October 2, 2019
This issue is a perfect example of what a debut issue should be. It introduces the characters and sets the objectives. It also throws in some descriptions of the different levels of Marvel’s vision of hell. Throw in some great artwork, and you’ve got a great #1.
Even if you’re not a Ghost Rider fan, like me, you won’t be lost. And if you are, leave a comment on the review, or reach out to the staff on twitter. We’d be happy to help you out if you’ve got any questions!

The Immortal Hulk #24
Writer: Al Ewing
Art: Joe Bennett, Ruy José, Belardino Brabo, Marc Deering, Roberto Poggi, Paul Mounts, VC’s Cory Petit, and Alex Ross
Price: $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019
As sales have shown, Immortal Hulk is good. As in extremely good. I can honestly say I’d never thought I’d like a Hulk book, but I like this. A lot! Al Ewing has woven a multilayered story with great results! I’m particularly intrigued with seeds of a cosmic story that have been planted. This is seriously one of the best books Marvel puts out!

Daredevil #12
Written by: Chip Zdarsky
Art by: Marco Checchetto, Nolan Woodard, and VC’s Clayton Cowles
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019
This series is a personal favorite of mine. In it, as Matt continues his internal conflict of trying to decide if he’s going to be Daredevil or not (at least he’s not Ric….), the real star of this issue is Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin. As the Mayor of NYC, Wilson has turned over a new leaf. Or has he? After being poked and prodded has his temper finally gotten the best of him? Let’s just say the real Wilson Fisk shows up. In a big way. And in my mind, with the voice of Vincent D’Onofrio!!
