Well one thing I discovered from last issue, bigger the team means less enjoyment but smaller the team, the greater the issue is. Now could it have been a one issue fluke? Hopefully not, even with the series being rebooted in few weeks. The team is unique and really bummed out that I didn’t feel much of a connection with the team, but who knows, maybe now it will happen. Let’s dig in and see what we have here…

We open up the issue with the team outside of Emma Frost’s house, now that they all remember who she is, they want answers! They were easily able to sneak on property to take Emma, dead or alive! Well Scott mainly wants her alive but Alex could careless. Which is pretty ironic due to couple years ago in the X-Men: Blue book, they were basically on the same team of evil.

Meanwhile, at a O.N.E. facility, we see a medical team taking care of both O.N.E. soldiers and mutants. However, they have a mutant of their own who’s main purpose is to save the soldiers first then the mutants, Triage. At least we know that O.N.E. not only has an army that gets healed quickly but also what we can assume has a facility of mutants with possible bombs in their heads to do what they want them to do. Which if that is happening, my hype for the last issue went up!

Back at the Frost estate, everyone is arguing on what to do with Emma that is until Emma lets Hope do a mind scan for everyone. Now everyone, except for the Juggernaut, knows what is up. Which props for the time save.

The next part is a bit confusing, due to Wolverine is fighting some soldiers and the team just teleports there. Even though Emma said they needed to go back to their base to get someone. If that wasn’t confusing, how about we add a giant robot. Too bad the giant robot destroyed Banshee. Even too bad that we didn’t get much of Banshee for new readers within past few years to even feel for him.

Callahan reveals that he has something inside of Illyana and now they are in ranged for it to work, thus getting rid of her mutant self. Next thing you know we see a beast forming. And we see the beast destroying Juggernaut? Was unclear on what happened. The team sees that they are not at their prime to take on the beast/ Illyana, so they hightail it out of there. Now they are home free, or are they…?

Final Thoughts:

Well it is the penultimate issue and let’s start off with the negatives. Last half of the issue seems a bit rushed and somethings happened that just happened. Nothing to build up to something things in the issue that seemed to be a big thing. But now the positives. It seems like the stakes are going up an extra few notches for next issue. That is one thing the book hasn’t done, maybe since X-man first arrived on scene in the beginning of this run. The art wasn’t bad but wasn’t so great.

6.7/10
