Can you believe that the 850th issue of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is almost here? Wow! And with that 850th issue, the current writer Nick Spencer is set to unveil the return of the Green Goblin. Earlier this week, ComicBook.com confirmed the big reveal through the new variant cover of issue 850 by InHyuk Lee. If that wasn’t enough, Spider-Man editor Nick Lowe has been suggesting a return of an old Spidey villain for a long time now and this cover only seals the deal.

Peter Parker and Stormin’ Norman Osborn have been through so much together throughout the years that some could argue that their rivalry is one of the best in Comics. Right before Spencer took over the helm as lead writer on THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, Osborn combined with the Carnage symbiote to become the Red Goblin. As the arc closed, Norman was left even more deranged than before believing he WAS actually Carnage himself. Next, Osborn reappeared as one of Carnage’s minions in the ABSOLUTE CARNAGE even by Donny Cates, which you can get your hands on by clicking the Amazon link HERE. However, currently, Norman is working/consulting at Ravencroft and cleared of all past wrongdoing placing blame on the Carnage symbiote.

Readers should take notice to the cover of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #48 (legacy #849), which headlines Spider-Man in a straight-jacket in front of the Ravencroft. Could this be where the showdown takes place? Is this where the fatal return of the Green Goblin will happen? Solicits for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #48 read:
