Spoilers Ahead!

We already know what happened when a cosmic powered Frank Castle, A.K.A. The Punisher, A.K.A. Herald of Galactus, went back in time to kill baby Thanos (If you don’t know, go read Cosmic Ghost Rider after you finish my review!!) But what would happen if the same penance inducing flaming skull had a shot at Hitler? Everything you ever knew about WWII, The Allies and Cap is WRONG! Now it can finally be told… how the Allies ACTUALLY won the War, only knowing a single German word.

Say What?! Let’s jump in and find out.

We start up right where the last issue ended – Frank Castle is stuck in the past and reliving famous events in Marvel History. We’ve already seen the beginning of the Fantastic Four, X-Men, an Spidey, this month we go back to WWII with Cap, killing Nazis all the way. First off though, Frank was posing as “Uncle Fredo” to spend a little more time with his family before they… well, get brutally slaughtered by mobsters and giving birth to the Punisher as we know. Last issue ended with Frank Castle (The PAST Frank, that is) finding the future Frank in his garage.

Does my insurance even cover therapy?

Frank does what Frank does best: Beat the tar out of the future Frank. After a few rounds, Future Frank does the flaming head thing and shows past Frank all about WWII.

It’s like a fantasy camp for the criminally insane!

Future Frank (who is past Frank at this point? It’s best not to think too much about it) Has a blast killing Nazis with Cap, and is drafted into the O.S.S. with Nick Fury and The Howling Commandos, striking fear into the hearts of the Nazis. Johann Schmidt can’t be the only one with a red skull though, right? The Commandos sneak behind the line with Frank dressed as the Red Skull despite only knowing one word in German: “Gesunheidt”.

Gesundheidt? I mean “You’re SOOO good looking!”

They get caught out by Baron Zemo after freeing Cap, and despite Frank warning Cap and Bucky NOT to get on that plane piloted by Baron Zemo…

Frank Kills Hitler. They CALL it suicide to be demoralizing to the Nazis… but yeah, Frank just straight up murders Hitler (Off-panel). Past Frank and Future Frank bond over murder and dead Nazis, while Elsewhere, Uatu becomes aware of Frank’s time meddling.

Gesunheidt!

Final Thoughts:

Any book that can make me laugh out loud multiple times is a winner in my book. It’s really fun. It ultimately doesn’t matter being semi out of continuity and all, but seeing a fun Frank Castle is something else. It’s exactly in the same vein as the Cosmic Ghost Rider mini and the over the top cartoony art perfectly supports the story.

If you’re after a fun book that doesn’t take a ton of investment, you could do A Lot worse than Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History. Pick this up!
