Recap:

Storm, Cyclops, and Magneto oversee a team to destroy another facility to which the humans are attempting to salvage some of the data that the X-Men destroyed at the Forge in HOXPOX. After fighting a group of transformed scientist ape creatures, Storm and Polaris run into a techno-evolved advanced human from the Vault who finds a way to escape right through their fingers. However, we learn that the driving purpose of this mission wasn’t to simply destroy another facility BUT to also save a group of mutant children who were held captive. As the issue concludes, readers see how the Summer’s family has set up a Krakoan Homestead on the Moon while the Orchid Forge is still fully functional with Doctor Gregor ready to bring her husband back with a crystal that resembles something used in Nimrod.

Recap:

Cyclops, Prestige, and Cable head out to confront a rogue island that’s literally moving towards Krakoa (yup another living island). After fighting off some random new creatures, Cyclops’ team runs into this creepy figure in all white with black dripping eyes talking in another language to the island itself. Readers are led to believe this white being is a Summoner of Arakko. After confronting this Summoner and having Cable inadvertently (and stupidly) blowing him up, the Summoner attacks Cyclops’ team. Eventually, Prestige links minds with the Summoner and they each explain themselves only to realize that the island of Arakko and Krakoa are “in love” and literally fuse with one another. However, the issue concludes with Apocalypse having a secret meeting with the Summoner at night where readers find out that this Summoner of Arakko is somehow the son of War.

This is, as I like to call it, the ”Golden Girls” issue. A team of three elderly botanists manage to infiltrate the Savage Land Krakoan Flower Harvest Center. They used Krakoan Gates to transport there by means of their knowledge of botany. Cyclops, Emma Frost, and Sebastian Shaw use the mutant Gateway to travel to the Savage Land since the “Golden Girls” of botany have somehow disrupted the gate making it inaccessible. As Cyclops and his team confront the elderly Horticulturists, Emma finds out that these old ladies are somehow shielded from here telepathy. But, after some trickery and some green goo guns, the ladies manage to escape. Their radical botanist plans were interrupted by the creation of Krakoa. So, these old bags were simply taking matters into their own hands and haven’t been heard of since (as of issue 8)

However, what our lovable mutants thought would be a peaceful mission, turns sideways as two assault teams were stationed to bring down our mutant leaders. But, the idiots messed with their inhibitors just long enough for Charles to sense their plans. So, Charles telepathically tells Cyclops and Gorgon (who came as guards), to go handle the two assault teams. By the way, Gorgon literally cuts off everyone’s limbs! As Charles, Magneto, and Apocalypse leave, the Good Professor makes it clear that if the other nations make any more attempts on Krakoa or mutants, Krakoa and it’s mutants will retaliate.

Price: $3.99

Release Date: January 29th, 2020

Recap:

The techno-evolved advanced human from issue one pops back up again in Ecuador and she’s being tracked by none other than Wolverine. Wolverine was able to track her to the Vault where her name is finally divulged as Serafina. Also, according to Charles, the Children of the Vault are the single biggest threat to the mutants. So, the Professor sends a team to infiltrate the Vault, which happens to be Darwin, Synch and X-23 due to their abilities to adapt, evolve, and regenerate. However, time passes differently in the Vault AND if they die inside, Charles will not know. Therefore, he cannot resurrect nor can he collect the information from them since Cerebro can not connect to anything inside the Vault. The infiltration team accepts the task and sneaks into the Vault while Storm and Cyclops cause a distraction. Nonetheless, the issue ends with Cyclops talking to Charles realizing that the team of Darwin, Synch, and X-23 have been gone for more than three months, which to the team in the Vault is more like 537 years!!

Recap:

This issue focuses on Mystique and her infiltration with Cyclops, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Jean Grey on the Orchid Forge around the Sun back in HOXPOX. It turns out, Charles had some secret plans for Mystique behind the scenes that now have been brought to readers’ attention. Her secret mission while the other heroes were taking down the Forge, was to plant a Krakoan seed for future use. Well, after Mystique was resurrected, she traveled back through the gate to see if it worked as proof. Nevertheless, her discovery was that Doctor Gregor was still continuing to build Nimrod and their actions on the Orchid Forge were not enough to stop the future. Readers also learn that Mystique is on edge and wants Charles to bring back her wife Destiny. However, he won’t because she’s a precog and will attempt to change future events. Plus, he was directed not to bring back any precogs from Moira who we haven’t seen since HOXPOX. Charles and Magneto have been using Mystique and dangling her wife’s resurrection in front of her as a tool to get her to do their dirty work. However, we find out she’s pissed and $&@$ is going to hit the fan soon!

Price: $4.99

Recap:

Readers are introduced to The Crucible. You see, the Scarlet Witch erased the powers of one million mutants a while back. These individuals still existed and were still technically mutants but without their powers or abilities. The Crucible is a fight to the death against Apocalypse. After Apocalypse defeats you in combat and kills you, Charles uses the Five to resurrect you in a new body with your working abilities again. This way, you’re not committing suicide and in the eyes of the mutants, your fight to the death his honorable and worthy of your resurrection. Plus, if all one million mutants decided to commit mass suicide, the Five would never be able to resurrect them all. This gives balance to an unbalanced process. Melody Guthrie is the first to challenge and die in the Crucible. She re-emerges with her full powers and ready to rock and roll. Regardless, the issue ends with Nightcrawler stating that he thinks he needs to start a mutant religion, which was an interesting way to end the issue.
