Did you ever want to see Peter Quill in the Hulk Buster armor? What about a PTSD alcoholic Old Man Quill with a dissociative disorder and ax to grind? Am I getting warmer? Well what if I promise you this PTSD alcoholic Old Man Quill with a dissociative disorder and an ax to grind wearing the Hulk Buster armor gets to slaughter the whole Shi’ar Imperial Guard? WHILE HANGING OUT WITH H.E.R.B.I.E!!!! Wait where are you going? Come back! I promise I won’t talk about H.E.R.B.I.E.

Peter is at the wreckage of the Baxter Building. Inside he is faced with the Imperial guard who are being controlled by the Church of Truth. This Imperial guard is responsible for the execution of the rest of the Guardians as we found out from previous issues. So Quill isn’t playing nice.

He proves this by snapping the neck of the first Guard member to jump at him. Thankfully it wasn’t Gladiator or this fight would have been extra quick. This is a very fast moving issue to begin with. It’s one of those full team against one man issues where one at a time each bad guy fights the good guy while all the other bad guys watch, but this is one that is immensely satisfy for a couple of reason. One major reason is the art. Robert Gill does great destruction. Everything has thousands of pieces, from the debris in the fight, to the Hulk buster armor. Another reason is Sacks doesn’t over write this fight. He allows Quill to say his peace but since the Imperial Guard is controlled they don’t need to talk much. Sacks lets the art do a lot of the talking and it is glorious to look at.

This fight is taking place in the Baxter Building which is normally bigger on the inside than the outside giving plenty of room for this fight to take place. As the fight is going down H.E.R.B.I.E ( I lied ) is constantly reminding Quill that he needs to get out of there because everything in a 1 mile radius is about to be sucked into a temporal anomaly.

This Anomaly as you have probably guessed saves Quills butt from an epic spanking from the Gladiator, but it woke a sleeping giant. Doctor Doom does not seem happy that Quill was messing in the Baxter Building and now he wishes to attend to this matter personally.

Final Thoughts:

A Beautifully rendered brawl that will touch your ocular G spot in all the right places. DOOM is coming!
