Wolverine #6, by Marvel Comics on 2/5/25, teams up Wolverine with X-23 to stop the Adamantine cult from destroying anyone who knows how to process Adamantium.
Is Wolverine #6 Good?
Recap
When we last left Logan in Wolverine #5, he discovered the Adamantine infection attacked anyone connected with Adamantium. After a brutal fight with Cyber, Wolverine believed he had won the battle, but the war was just beginning when the Adamantine infected him.

Plot Synopsis
Wolverine #6 begins with Wolverine gaining consciousness deep in the Earth as if he were an ore of metal trapped for millennia. The sound of someone saying his name brings him fully awake back at the plant where he fought Cyber. Nightcrawler helps Logan up and the two race to the Blackbird to find everyone gone, including Wendigo.
Wolverine and Nightcrawler BMF in the direction of Wendigo’s scent to find the mindless beast at the beginning of a battle with X-23. Laura intercepted Wendigo during her investigation into the deaths and destruction of anyone connected to the processing of Adamantium. Wolverine stops the fight and calms Wendigo down, to X-23’s surprise.
Nightcrawler uses the scanners aboard the Blackbird to discover Cyber, Lady Deathstrike, and Constrictor are attacking a Data Center housing digital files on Adamantium processing. The Blackbird is too damaged to fly, so Nightcrawler BAMFs Wolverine and X-23 to the location in Arizona (Can Nightcrawler BAMF that far to a location he’s never seen?). When the trio arrives, Wolverine asks Nightcrawler to go back and keep an eye on Wendigo.
The issue ends with Wolverine and X-23 finding a lot of dead IT techs, a new acolyte of the Adamantine, Donald Pierce, and the living leader of the Adamantine’s cult – Romulus.

First Impressions
Meh. Wolverine #6 is a standard Wolverine fight issue that puts the stakes and direction on the back burner in favor of unnecessary cameos and a vanilla fight. Saladin Ahmed’s script doesn’t quite fall into the “Rinse & Repeat” category, but there’s nothing in the series to grab your attention. Did anyone in Marvel really believe a Romulus appearance was going to be a wow moment?
How’s the Art?
Martín Cóccolo’s art is perfectly good. Ahmed’s script keeps the pace and energy up, so Cóccolo has an opportunity to deliver plenty of dynamic movement, and he largely succeeds. I do notice that several artists, including Cóccolo, have struggled to figure out what to do with the “ears” on X-23’s cowl (see NYX for more examples), so that aspect looks weird/off.
What’s great about Wolverine #6?
If you want a fast-paced comic that depicts Wolverine running from one fight to the next, Wolverine #6 is right up your alley. Saladin Ahmed’s script doesn’t waste time on side quest or extended conversations, so action lovers may enjoy this issue.

What’s not great about Wolverine #6?
The plot, if you can call it that is sorely lacking in a reason to care. To invest in the stroy, readers have to have a sense of what the Adamantine wants, why it wants it, and the consequences if Wolverine doesn’t stop it. We have none of that information after six issues, so Ahmed tries to distract the reader away from proper story development with energy and action. Superficially it works in the short-term, but the net result is a comic (and a series) that’s wholly forgettable.

Final Thoughts
Wolverine #6 is another mindless action fest with good pacing and energy that wholly lacks plot or a reason to care. Saladin Ahmed’s script meets the bare minimum for a recognizable Wolverine comic, but the absence of stakes or direction amount to nothing but a lot of empty calories.
