Well it was fun while it lasted, the book finale is upon yes. Unfortunetly due to the relaunch of the X-men books as a whole, all of the books are going to be scrapped. I was wholeeartly disappointed due to fact some of the books, I enjoyed and some of them featured my favorite characters. If this book has taught us anything, it is that these two need to be in some sort of book when the relaunch happens next month. Let’s dig in and see what we have here…

The issue opens in a cold open of Gambit telling us a bit about himself. If this run is the first time ever reading about Gambit, then I’d say the cold opening did a great job! We then get taken back an hour where Candra offers Gambit a deal. One such like a previous deal yeas ago. We do get a sense of threat from Candra, and I will give credit to Kelly Thompson. You do get the “Don’t mess with me vibes.”

After an hour, Gambit makes his choice and unfortunately, it was not one Candra wanted to hear. As it was all a devious plan to get free and attack. The battle scene is by far, the best battle scene we have seen of Gambit in this book! The art works so well at showing what he is capable of. We do see Rogue fight and try to maintain her new powers. But Gambit is probably the M.V.P. for me for this issue!

After the rustle and bustle, Rogue, Remy, and Remy’s dad heads to some woman that they are all friends with to celebrate. And of course the conversation of babies comes up. If this book went for another few more stories, I would not be shocked if babies did come up. Either for adoption or Rogue is actually pregnant.

Final Thoughts:

Well the book is all done and I am quite sadden. The book had so much potential and this issue alone is a great example for it. Kelly Thompson does wonders with these two. Can make you feel for the characters and we get great action scene in this issue! Only downside would be something felt a bit rushed.

7.8/10
